The 2 Norwegians Sebastian Plur Nilssen, 22, and Ludvig Fjeld, 22, were built with a nightmare awakening on Svalbard Thursday. Plur Nilssen was pulled from the tent with a Polar Bear. His expedition partner handled to shoot the bear.

The 2 Norwegians where with an expedition to circumnavigate the entire Svalbard archipelago in kayaks and began from Longyearbyen This summer 5. They where around the north coast of Nordaustlandet on Ekstremhuken once the attack happened midday Thursday This summer 29.

The Polar Bear entered the tent and pulled Plur Nilssen 40 meters across the beach before uncle handled to get rid of the bear.

Two hrs after Sysselmannen, governor of Svalbard, got the report his Super Puma helicopter arrived around the beach having a nurse aboard.

The 2 kayakers were immediately flown to Longyearbyen and Plur Nilsen was come to hospital.
Based on the latest reviews his condition is stable although not existence threatening. He's wounds around the mind, neck and torso.

Based on Sysselmannen it's very rarely that the Polar Bear attacks tents. You will find roughly 3000 Polar Bears on Svalbard.
